Angels Are Working Where You Do Not See
For He will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.
— Psalm 91:11–12
Think about the near misses. The bus you did not catch, the turn you did not take, the moment something in you said not this way and you listened without knowing why.
Psalm 91:11 and 12 say, "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." In all thy ways. Not in the dramatic moments only, in the ordinary route you take every day of the week.
It is easy to read that as a licence to be reckless. That is not what it says. Jesus was quoted this exact psalm by the devil and refused to jump off a building to test it.
Mark 16:18 says believers "shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them." That is cover for when something goes wrong, not an invitation to go looking for trouble to see whether the promise holds.
Most of this you will never see. The protection is quiet, and you will probably file it under luck or good timing. When you get the nudge to leave early or take the other road, you can just follow it, because the Holy Spirit lives in you and part of what He does is keep you.
You have been covered on days you never knew were dangerous. He has been doing this the whole time without needing the credit for it.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You have had angels over my ordinary days without me ever noticing. I am not exposed out here, I am kept. Holy Spirit, make me quick to listen when You nudge me. Keep me sensitive to that today. I trust the protection You already put around me. Amen
Amen
