God Notices What You Do With Little
Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much...
— Luke 16:10
It is easy to think nothing is happening because nothing big is happening. The job is ordinary, the routine is the same, and you wonder when the real thing starts.
Jesus told a story about a master who handed out money before leaving. Luke 19:13 says he told them, "Occupy till I come." Work with what is in your hand until I get back. Not wait around until something more interesting turns up.
Luke 16:10 says, "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much." God is not scanning for grand gestures. He is watching what you do with the ordinary Tuesday.
In the story the servant who lost out was not the one with the least. He was the one who did nothing with what he had. Matthew 25:29 says, "For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance." Growth follows use.
None of this is God auditioning you before He decides to love you. That is already settled in Jesus. It just means the thing already in your hands, the class you are taking, the person who keeps calling you, the small ability you keep dismissing, is not nothing. Ask the Holy Spirit what to do with today's version of it, and do that.
You are not waiting for God to hand you something worth being faithful with. He already did, and it is smaller than you expected.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You put something real in my hands already. I am not empty handed and I am not overlooked. Holy Spirit, show me the small thing in front of me today and help me actually do it. Keep me faithful where nobody is watching. I trust You with what grows out of it. Amen
Amen
