God's Word Outranks What You See

Everybody hits the wall where the maths just does not work. You have prayed, you have waited, and the situation has not moved an inch.

Abraham lived there for years. Romans 4:18 says, "Who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, So shall your descendants be." He was seventy five when the promise came, and Sarah could not have children. Nothing about his circumstances backed up what God had said.

Look at the last part of that verse again. According to what was spoken. His hope was not attached to his age or his wife's medical history. It was attached to a sentence God had said out loud.

And that is not wishful thinking, because of what God's words actually are. Isaiah 55:11 says, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." His word carries the power to produce the thing it describes. It is not a hope He is crossing His fingers over.

So the promise you are holding, the healing, the result, the door at work that keeps staying shut, does not expire because it is taking long. You are not required to pretend the problem is not real. Abraham did not pretend either. He just gave more weight to what God said than to what he could see, and the Holy Spirit in you will keep that word alive if you keep feeding on it.

Delay is not denial. What God has spoken is still working.
