You Do Not Have To Clean Up First

You have hesitated to worship before, quietly scanning yourself for anything still unresolved. By the time the song ends you feel less welcome than when it started.

There is a woman in Luke 7 who did none of that. She had a reputation everyone in the room already knew about, and she walked into a Pharisee's house anyway and poured out worship at Jesus' feet.

She did not confess first. She did not tidy up first. She came exactly as she was, in front of people who were certain she had no right to be there.

Jesus said to her in Luke 7:48, "Thy sins are forgiven." He did not make her qualify for it. The forgiveness met her at the point of coming, not at the end of a clean-up process.

Then Luke 7:50: "And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace." Faith, not performance. She trusted He would receive her, and He did, and that is the same door you walk through.

So come as you are today. Your worthiness was never the ticket, His grace was, and the Holy Spirit is not waiting for you to look presentable before He meets you.
