Being Led Is Less Mystical Than You Think
The integrity of the upright shall guide them.
— Proverbs 11:3
You are stuck on a decision and waiting for a sign. Sometimes God gives one. Most of the time His leading is a lot less dramatic than that.
Proverbs 11:3 says, "The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them." Integrity guides. Not a feeling, not a coincidence, not the right song coming on at the right moment.
Integrity means whole, undivided, the same thing all the way through. That is a description of God's character, and here is the good part. You were never asked to copy it from the outside, because He put His own nature in you when you were born again. This is expression, not impersonation.
That is why growing in it is mostly about what you value. Start esteeming what God esteems and your decisions quietly line up without a wrestling match every single time.
Psalm 119:105 says, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." A lamp at your feet lights the next step, not the whole road. The Holy Spirit uses what you already know of the Word to nudge you, so the more of it is in you, the clearer that nudge gets.
There will still be mistakes and losses along the way, and none of that means you permanently missed God. Most of the time being led just means doing the right thing in front of you. Do that, and the path shows up.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You put Your own nature inside me and I am not faking it. I am Your child, led by Your Spirit. Holy Spirit, light the next step for me today and make it plain. Give me courage to simply do the right thing in front of me. I walk it out in faith. Amen
Amen
