The Harvest Is Big, You Are Sent
Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
— Matthew 9:37-38
There are more people around you who need Jesus than there are people telling them about Him. That is not a guilt trip. That is just the count.
Matthew 9:37-38 says, "Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." Jesus never said the harvest was unresponsive. He said the workers were few.
Most believers hear the word labourer and picture somebody with a title and a stage. But Jesus was talking to ordinary followers, and He was talking about them.
Matthew 5:13 says, "Ye are the salt of the earth." Not you should try to be. You already are. Your workplace, your hostel room, your group chat, that is a field nobody with a title is walking into.
Here is what takes the pressure off. Acts 1:8 says, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me." The power came first, then the witnessing. You are not working this up out of courage you do not have, you are drawing on a Spirit you already received.
You are not being recruited today. You were already sent, and the One who sent you is living inside you.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You already made me salt and light and put Your Spirit inside me. I am not trying to qualify as a labourer, I already am one. Holy Spirit, show me the one person today who is ready to hear. I go in Your power and not my own, and I am at rest in that. Amen
Amen
