A Cup Of Water Does Not Go Unnoticed

The things nobody sees you do start to feel pointless after a while. You showed up, you listened, you covered for someone. Nobody mentioned it.

Jesus went smaller than that. Matthew 10:42 says, "And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward." A cup of water. In no wise lose. He picked that example on purpose.

It was never about the size of the act. 1 Corinthians 3:13 says, "Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is." Of what sort, not of what size.

Before that starts to feel like pressure, read 1 Corinthians 4:7, "For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?" Everything you have to give, you were handed first. Even the kindness is His.

That is exactly why the elders in Revelation 4:10 "cast their crowns before the throne." They were rewarded and then handed it straight back, because they knew where it came from. Reward and grace were never in competition.

So keep doing the small unseen thing. The Holy Spirit is the One prompting most of it anyway, and God has not missed a single one.
