Your Provision Is Waiting At There
Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are.
— James 5:17
You are not disqualified by your own inconsistency. Elijah called down fire and then ran off and hid under a tree, and God never withdrew the call.
James 5:17 keeps him human: "Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months." Same passions as you. Same wobbles. Different confidence in what God said.
His influence never came from his background or his education. It came from what God showed him, and he spoke it out before he saw any proof of it. You have that too, because you know God personally, not because you got qualified somewhere.
Then look at how God supplied him. 1 Kings 17:2-4 says, "And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there."
Read that last word again. There. God did not ship the ravens to where Elijah was standing, He stationed them where He was sending him. The provision was already commanded and already waiting, it just had an address.
So this is not about anxiously hunting for God's will and panicking that you missed it. He shows you one step, you take it, He shows you the next. Let the Holy Spirit walk you to your There, because the supply got there before you did.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You commanded my provision before I ever arrived. I am led by You and I am not disqualified by my weakness. Holy Spirit, show me the next step and give me the courage to take it. I trust Your timing completely, by faith. Amen
