Stop Roasting Christians You Disagree With

Real talk, the easiest target for a Christian is another Christian. Different church, different style, different take, and suddenly we have a whole opinion. It feels righteous and it builds nothing.

Luke 6:35 says, "But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil." Read that last line again. God is kind to the ungrateful. That is His baseline, not a reward He hands out for good behaviour.

So where does that leave any of us feeling entitled to be harsh? Luke 6:36 says, "Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful." The instruction lands after the description of what He is like. You are being asked to pass on something you already received.

And look at who the Bible keeps. Abraham lied about his wife. David committed adultery and had a man killed. Peter swore he did not even know Jesus. They are still named for their faith, because grace was bigger than their worst week.

You do not know the full story behind the person you are about to criticise. You rarely do. Before you post it or say it, hand it to the Holy Spirit and ask Him what love looks like here, since He is the One producing that love in you anyway.

God did not wait for you to become agreeable before He was kind to you. Same grace, same rule, for the believer you cannot stand.
