Temptation Is Won Before It Arrives

Nobody actually gets caught by temptation in the moment. You get caught long before, in the quiet stretch where nothing was happening and you had no reason to think about it.

Rehoboam started well. He sought God early, then the weight of the crown built up and he drifted. Jesus went the other way. He spent thirty years soaked in Scripture and full of the Spirit before He ever walked into that wilderness.

Look at what the enemy went for first. He opened with if thou be the Son of God, aiming straight at identity. Jesus never argued about who He was, He answered from what God had already said. Matthew 4:4 says, "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

That is the whole vibe shift for you as well. You are not fighting to become a child of God, you already are one, and no temptation can touch that. Every pull toward sin is really a suggestion that God is holding out on you. He is not.

Philippians 4:8 says, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." This is not white knuckling your own thoughts. The Holy Spirit inside you is the One who provides the way out, and He usually hands you a verse before He hands you willpower.

Feed on what God already said while things are calm. Then when the moment arrives, you are not scrambling around for strength. You are standing on something you already believed.
