Someone Is Waiting On Your Yes
So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
— 1 Kin. 17:5
There is usually one thing you already know God has put in front of you. Not a vision, not a sign in the sky. Just something you keep moving to next week.
Elijah had one of those moments, and the Bible records it in a single line. 1 Kings 17:5 says, "So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan." No debate. No asking how ravens were supposed to work as a food delivery system. He heard, and he went.
Here is the thing most people miss. The provision was already set up before Elijah moved. God did not wait to see if he would obey and then arrange the ravens. The brook was flowing and the birds were assigned before he took a step. Obedience did not create the supply, it walked him into it.
Same thing with the widow. God told him in 1 Kings 17:9, "Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee." God had already spoken to her before Elijah ever showed up at her gate. And when he obeyed, 1 Kings 17:16 says, "And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah." A woman cooking her last meal before she died got months of food, because a man went where he was told.
So think about the thing sitting on you right now. The friend you keep meaning to call back. The money you felt to send someone and then talked yourself out of. The apology you owe your dad. You are not manufacturing anything good to hand them, the Holy Spirit already dropped it in you. Your part is just going.
Somebody is standing at the other end of your yes, and they have no idea they are waiting on you.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You set up the provision before You ever gave me the instruction. I am not talking myself into being brave, I already have Your Spirit living in me. Holy Spirit, make the next step clear enough that I cannot miss it. I am going to move on it instead of studying it. I trust that what You have arranged is already in place. Amen
Amen
