The Assumption In Your Head Might Be Creating The Conflict In Your Home
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
— James 3:16
Most conflicts do not start with a big fight. They start with an assumption. You see someone's face, you hear their tone, and your mind fills in what they must have meant. Then you react to what you imagined, not what was actually said.
A lot of strife in relationships begins right there, with a thought we treated as a fact.
James 3:16 says where envy and strife are, confusion and every evil work follow. The enemy works in the gap between what someone said and what you think they meant. But you can close that door by choosing to assume good about people instead of bad.
When there is a real conflict, forgiveness is the way forward. Jesus said forgive seventy times seven, which means make it a way of life. Forgiveness does not say what someone did was right. It releases them so the bitterness does not stay inside you.
If a conflict is still not resolved, God gives you steps in Matthew 18. Talk to the person directly. If needed, bring a trusted person with you. God values restored relationships, not just a surface-level peace.
The next time someone says something that bothers you, pause before you react and ask the Holy Spirit to show you their heart. Let forgiveness move faster than offense.
PRAYER
Father, thank You for forgiving me completely through Jesus, and I choose to extend that same forgiveness to others today. Help me to see people the way You see them and let Your love in me be what ends strife.
Amen
