You Are Not On Probation With God

Why is God testing me. People ask it in hospital corridors and after bad news, and underneath it is a quieter question about whether they have passed yet.

Jesus was tested in every way a person can be, and He came through it. That was done on your behalf. You are not being reassessed on a test that already has a result.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." New creature, not improved version. Something different, not something upgraded.

Colossians 2:10 says, "And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power." Complete. Not nearly there, not on trial, not waiting for the final sign off.

Romans 5:17 says those "which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ." Receive, and gift. Nothing in that sentence describes something you are working toward. So when you catch yourself trying to prove something to God this week, you can stop. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what you already have, because most of us are begging for things that are already in the room.

There is no probation period. He finished the work and then put you in it.
